What’s On in Mullingar
📚 Mullingar Literary Festival (July 4–6)
Writers, readers, and book nerds unite! Mullingar goes full literary this weekend with readings, workshops, kids’ events, and live poetry popping up in all the right places. Big names, local legends, and probably someone quoting Yeats near a coffee cart. One to bookmark.

🎸 Guns N’ Roses Tribute at The Chambers (July 4)
Ready to rock like it’s 1987? The Chambers is hosting a Guns N’ Roses tribute night this Friday, and it’s shaping up to be a loud, leather-clad love letter to the golden age of rock.
Expect classic hits like Sweet Child o’ Mine, Paradise City, and November Rain, all delivered with hair, swagger, and more guitar solos than strictly necessary (in the best way).
Whether you're a lifelong fan or just in it for the anthems and the craic, this is one night you won’t want to miss.
🎟️ Doors open early — these tribute nights tend to sell out faster than a Slash solo.
🎯 Mullingar RFC Summer Bingo Night (July 2)
Date & Time: Wednesday, July 2 • 7:30 - 9:30 pm
Location: Mullingar Rugby Club, Cullion
Get ready to dab those cards! Mullingar RFC is hosting a huge Summer Bingo Night this Wednesday at 8 pm, with a jaw-dropping €13,500 in prize money up for grabs. Expect a buzzing community crowd, plenty of laughs, and maybe a cheeky pint in between rounds.
🗣️ Picture it: lively banter, friendly rivalries (“Did you get your full house yet?”), and that sweet moment when someone shouts “Bingo!” louder than your granny cheering at an All-Ireland final.
No matter if you're a seasoned bingo champ or a first-timer who's just in it for the craic, this night’s all about community fun—and the chance to walk away with some serious winnings.

🌈 Bottle‑Cap Mural Brings Art & Sustainability to Delvin
Where: St Tolas Primary School, Delvin
What: A vibrant mural created entirely from recycled bottle caps
St Tolas Primary in Delvin has just finished a seriously impressive project: a mural made from thousands of plastic bottle caps, all collected and sorted by students, staff, and local helpers. It’s a bright, bold celebration of creativity, teamwork, and keeping plastic out of the bin.
More than just a school art project, it’s a great reminder that even the smallest actions—like saving a bottle cap—can add up to something colourful and meaningful.
It’s art. It’s recycling. It’s community. And it’s right here in Delvin.
🧹 Mullingar Tidy Towns: Sweeping Up for the Judges
Date: July 2025
Location: Mullingar Town Centre
The volunteers at Mullingar Tidy Towns (who do so much to keep this town tidy!) are preparing for the visit of judges from the national competition. They are out in full force, armed with gloves, bags, and a shared mission: to make Mullingar shine brighter than a freshly polished trophy.
From sprucing up flower beds to cleaning up public spaces, every corner is getting the care and attention it deserves. It is a community effort that shows how proud locals are of their town.
So, if you are strolling through Mullingar this week, expect to see a town looking its absolute best. And remember, a tidy town is a happy town!
🟣 Mullingar Keeps Its Purple Flag!
Mullingar’s done it again—keeping its Purple Flag status for 2025! That means the town is officially a top spot for safe, fun, and lively nightlife.
What’s a Purple Flag?
It’s like a gold star for towns that make evenings awesome and safe for everyone. Think good vibes, good pubs, great music, and friendly streets after dark.
Big shoutout to the locals, businesses, and the council for making sure Mullingar stays a place where the night sparkles (without the trouble).

🤣Joke of the Week
Before the joke I just want to say that I can’t think of any other jokes about Mullingar so I’m switching to Chuck Norris Jokes because they’re simply better.
Death once had a near-Chuck Norris experience.
You can’t say that this isn’t better than any of the other Mullingar Jokes I did…
That’s All for Now!

Just curious as to why this weeks Mullingar HQ did not and does not include any informaion on Mullingar Pride taking place this coming weekend.
